Lawn care software, 2026

The best lawn care software in 2026, by who it suits.

There is no single best. A one-truck mowing route, a bilingual landscape crew and a commercial firm with branches want different things, and pay on different terms. Here are nine tools, alphabetically, each with who it suits, what to watch for, and what its price is based on. We make LawnLedger, which is on the list; it is not at the top by default.

What each one costs, and what it bills on

Per month, from each vendor's own pricing page on the date shown unless marked third-party. The basis matters more than the entry price: it decides what happens to your bill when you hire, or when you add customers.

Aspire

  • Best for: Enterprise landscape companies that bid commercial work and want a team to implement the system, with job costing, purchasing and subcontractor portals.
  • Watch for: No published price; a contract; payments, payroll and GPS are quoted separately. Compare →

Housecall Pro

  • Best for: Crews that want payroll, consumer financing and a full Spanish app for every role in one tool.
  • Watch for: Seats: Max includes 8 users, then $35 each. Its bookkeeping is a paid service on a modified cash basis. Compare →

Jobber

  • Best for: The polished generalist: an AI receptionist, a large app marketplace, a well-reviewed app.
  • Watch for: The price rises with each team-size band, add-ons are extra, and the books stay in QuickBooks. Compare →

Lawn Buddy

  • Best for: A one- or two-person mowing route: a free plan that never expires and Pro at $39 with unlimited crew.
  • Watch for: No books (QuickBooks sync only), no contracts or customer portal, English only. Compare →

LawnLedger

  • Best for: Crews that want the books in the same app, an office, crew app and customer portal in English and Spanish, and a price set by customers instead of headcount.
  • Watch for: A young product with few public reviews. No chemical application records yet, no payroll, and job costing and route optimization start at Professional.

LawnPro

  • Best for: Small lawn crews on a budget: a free Solo plan for up to 25 customers, and multi-step chemical programs from Grow.
  • Watch for: QuickBooks sync and two-way texting are on its top plan only, and the price steps up with employee logins.

QuoteIQ

  • Best for: Owner-operators who want AI tools and round-the-clock support on a monthly plan.
  • Watch for: The price is per user ($25 for each one past the plan), AI use comes from a monthly allowance of IQ credits, and job costing and inventory sit on higher tiers.

Service Autopilot

  • Best for: Fertilizer and weed-control operators: chemical tracking and an automations engine that reviewers rate highly.
  • Watch for: An unpublished signup fee, a captive card processor, and reviewers reporting price rises since the Xplor sale. Compare →

Yardbook

  • Best for: Getting started for nothing: a free plan.
  • Watch for: Its paid prices are not on its own site, so check them before you rely on them.
The comparison most lists skip is QuickBooks. Every tool here except LawnLedger keeps its books somewhere else, usually QuickBooks Online at $140 a month for Plus. Add it to the price before you compare. All our side-by-side comparisons →
